Day Trip Hiking in Eislek, Luxembourg

Located in the north of Luxembourg, the Eislek region has impressive lush forests, green hills and deep valleys. The Eislek trail is a national hiking trail that has been labelled under ‘Leading Quality Trails -Best of Europe’ that was developed by the European Ramblers Association (ERA). On this trip we will hike in the nature park of Haute Sure region. The trail will pass through several panoramic viewpoints and the lakeside of Haute Sure before ending in the small charming village of Esch-sur-Sure. Located in the valley of Sure river, this enchanting village is situated in a meander of the river at the foot of the ruins of the oldest castle in Luxembourg. We will walk up to the ruins of this castle, which offers a wonderful view of the village and its narrow streets that have barely changed since the middle ages. We will spend some time exploring this village before boarding the bus for our return journey.
