The meadows, mountains and valleys of the Appenzell Alps provide the perfect setting for hikes.This beautiful corner of Switzerland is home to hidden gems in the form of picturesque lakes, towering mountains, mighty rock formations and slopes covered with lush trees. Farms situated on the hilly green pastures provide an idyllic landscape which will make you feel that you have landed in the happiest place on earth. The cheerful sounds of cowbells can be heard throughout the hills. We have crafted three beautiful hikes for you such that you can experience the most beautiful parts of this region through walks.

29 April (Saturday): Klontalersee hike 
This hike will take you to the Klontal valley in Glarus to enjoy the beautiful scenery around a natural lake. The trail will take you along the shores of the lake with some forests and impressive waterfalls on the route. You will have the opportunity to take a short break to wet your feet in the crystal-clear waters as the lake has shores at many spots. Perfect place to not only hike but also to relax and enjoy the fresh air and  beauty of the surrounding hills.

30 April (Sunday): Hiking in Ebenalp
You will find yourself in the Alpstein mountains of Appenzell for a breathtaking hike that will lead you to the famous Ascher mountain restaurant that is built at the cliff edge of Ebenalp. Because of its stunning location, it was featured on the cover page of National Geographic magazine. This region is a hiker’s paradise offering spectacular views. The trail will also take you through some caves and to the beautiful lake Sealpsee. You are sure to enjoy amazing views and panoramas during this hike making it an experience that you will remember for a very long time.

1 May (Monday): Hike to lake Samtisersee and lake Falensee
This trail will take you along two lakes. First we will trek to the scenic Samtisersee and then to the lake Falensee, a gorgeous mountain lake in the Alpstein mountains of eastern Switzerland. It lies in a valley, nestled between steep rock faces and mountain slopes, somewhat resembling a Norwegian Fjord. A dream hike from Samtisersee will take you to this Fjord of the Alpstein. The impressive view of the lake will offer you a true nature experience. A place of power that fills you with energy in an instant. If you want, you can even take a dip in the mountain lake.From here we will hike uphill to the impressive rocky ridge of Saxer Lucke before completing the loop to end the hike.
