Because Switzerland is best when discovered on foot, we have planned a series of hikes to make sure that you see the best of its natural beauty in three days. This will be a tiring but very rewarding trip for nature lovers. We will walk through a gorge, see a castle, hike up a mountain, walk through a valley, see some waterfalls formed from melting glaciers, witness stunning views of alpine landscape and the countryside, walk beside a lake……

Event Timelines

1.

Day-1 (Saturday, 13th of August): HIKING IN THE JAUNBACH GORGE

We will take an 11 km walk that passes through the spectacular Jaunbach gorge – an unforgettable experience. Wooden walkways, tunnels and little waterfalls make it a unique adventure worth remembering. The walk ends in a medieval old town of Gruyeres with an imposing castle. This is a family-friendly walk suitable for children of 10 years and above.

Length of the walk – 11km

Level of difficulty – Easy.

2.

Day-2 (Sunday, 14th of August): HIKING IN WENGEN/LAUTERBRUNNEN

We arrive in Bernese Oberland, probably the most beautiful part of Switzerland. Here we will hike from Lauterbrunnen to Wengen and then back to Lauterbrunnen from another route to complete a loop of –km. This walk will take us through the forest with glimpses of the Breithorn and Staubbach falls. In the beginning, there is a short but steep part. As we walk uphill, the views become more and more magnificent as we look down into the Lauterbrunnen valley. Wengen has all the characters of a picture-postcard mountain village. Expect some amazing panoramas of the alpine landscape during this hike.

Length of the walk – 15km

Level of difficulty – Medium.

There is an alternative possibility for families and beginners who want to avoid an uphill hike.

Take an easy walk in the Lauterbrunnen valley with stunning natural beauty. The path leads through a beautiful and colourful valley with gigantic rock faces, mountain peaks and waterfalls. You even have the possibility to climb up to a cave behind the Staubbach falls and experience the view from behind the falling water. The views will leave you speechless. The walk starts from the bus parking area of Lauterbrunnen till Stechelberg and back from the same route to the bus parking. There is also a possibility to take a bus back to Lauterbrunnen from Stechelberg.

Length of the walk – 10km (5 km one way)

Level of difficulty – Easy.

3.

Day-3 (Monday, 15th of August): THE SWISS PATH HIKE

We will experience a unique hiking adventure called The Swiss Path. The Swiss Path is an exceptional route, as it tells the story of how Switzerland came to be the nation that we know today. Along the route, stone markers indicate the years in which each canton joined the Confederation, laid out in chronological order. This walk starts at Seelisberg and follows the lake Uri, the easternmost branch of lake Lucerne. You can enjoy wonderful views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The trail has several viewpoints that allow you to see the majestic lake of Uri in all its beauty.

Length of the walk – 15km

Level of difficulty – Easy
