Neuschwanstein castle is probably Germany’s most famous sight – so famous that it inspired Walt Disney to use it as a design for his iconic logo, and now it has inspired Whattrips to design a hiking route to discover the different viewpoints from where this castle can be viewed best. Saturday (22nd of October): HIKING FROM LAKE PLANSEE TO WATERFALL STUIBENFALLE
We will take you to the picturesque region of Tyrol in Austria for a hike beside the lake Plansee known for its crystal clear waters. Nestled in the Lechtal Alps, it is one of the most beautiful lakes in Europe. Besides its beauty, the fresh air and peaceful environment makes it a great place to hike. After you enjoy the views along the lakeside, the trail will take you through a bridge across the lake before you start walking towards a beautiful waterfall. Along the way, you will pass through rocks, pools and small waterfalls before reaching Stuibenfalle.

Sunday (23rd of October): THE THREE CASTLES HIKE
This hike starts from Fussen and will take you through three different castles – Hohenschwangau, Neuschwanstein and Hohe Schloss. The trail passes through a beautiful lake called Schwansee with impressive views of the Bavarian Alps in the background. When the water is still, you can capture great pictures of the reflections in the lake. As the hike progresses, you will walk through a bridge from which you can have a stunning view of the Neuschwanstein castle, perfect for an instagrammable pic. During the hike we will stop by several viewpoints from where you can witness panoramic views of this fairytale-like castle.In the end we will return to Fussen and walk around to explore this beautiful historical town.

11:30 hrs: Arrival at lake Plansee in Tyrol and start of the hike
16:00 hrs: End of the hike and boarding of bus
17:00 hrs: Arrival in Hotel and check-in
17:30 hrs onwards: free time for yourself
Sunday (23rd of October)
09:30 hrs: Finish breakfast and check-out of the hotel. Board the bus to start for hike
11:00 hrs: Arrival at the start-point of the hike in Fussen
18:30 hrs: End of hike and boarding of bus
19:00 hrs: Bus will starts for return journey to Belgium
Monday (24th of October)
