Weekend Trip Hiking in Rhine Valley, Germany

We have crafted two hikes that will take you along a stretch of the Rhine river that cuts through the mountains in a meandering fashion, creating a winding valley of villages with traditional half-timbered houses. The trail is surrounded by fields and fairytale castles perched on the hillsides with views across the valley. The slopes studded with numerous castles on both sides of the river, make it a river valley with more castles than any other river in the world. If it sounds like something from a storybook, it’s because it does sometimes feel that way. It really is a very pretty area that you have to see for yourself – and our hikes are the best way to do it. On this trip you are guaranteed to see some stunning views! The region offers a uniquely romantic journey through picturesque towns, castles, palaces, ruins and cultural treasures. Because of its beauty as a cultural landscape, its importance as a historical route of transport across Europe and unique architecture of the buildings, the Rhine valley was added to the UNESCO list of world heritage sites in 2002.
